ORLANDO (July 21, 2020) – After closing this past spring due to the current pandemic, the 800-room Rosen Plaza in Orlando will reopen on Sunday, July 26, prepared to greet leisure visitors and group attendees with a new program to help ensure an unparalleled level of safety and security in response to COVID-19.

Rosen’s Total Commitment is a guest and associate safety and well-being initiative implementing the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Jointly developed with the healthcare professionals at the Rosen Medical Center, the hotel’s general manager and department heads and the corporate risk management team, the program has transformed the consistently spotless property at every level with new measures, vetted and tested for the utmost effectiveness in line with the CDC requirements for COVID-19.

“The entire staff is excited to reconnect with our valued guests, whom we view as an extension of our Rosen Plaza family,” said Derek Baum, a 33-year Rosen Hotels’ associate, serving in recent years as general manager of Rosen Plaza. “Amenities such as our award-winning Jack’s Place and tropical outdoor swimming pool, where guests can relax and enjoy refreshments from ‘39 Poolside Bar & Grill, are sure to be a hit as we enthusiastically impart our special brand of hospitality and safety to ensure our visitors enjoy a much-needed respite from the worries of the day.”

New measures include social distancing parameters and easily-accessible hand sanitizers found throughout the hotel. Hospital-grade disinfectants designed to kill viruses will be administered through touchless electrostatic sprayers to continuously and thoroughly sanitize each guestroom. New walk-through temperature taking devices at guest and associate entrances will provide swift and effortless coronavirus screening. With board meetings to weddings on the books, as well as new leisure packages soon to be announced, the hotel is prepared to host each with the same superior service level as always, while implementing the enhanced health measures throughout its 60,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space.

“With creativity and care, we have devised ways to implement the new parameters to ensure a safe environment in our ballrooms, salons and reception areas while maintaining a distinguished atmosphere for each group and gathering,” said Victoria Hall, the hotel’s 20-year director of sales & marketing. “Our award-winning catering team led by Executive Chef Michael McMullen has easily adapted all of our clients’ favorites, as well as dreamed up intriguing new menus, to adhere to the new standards while enhancing our special events and meetings.”
