Rosen Jewish Community Center Announces New CEO

Ofira Bondorowsky brings record of nonprofit success and creative vision to The Jack and Lee Rosen Jewish Community Center.

Ofira BondorowskyOrlando (August 15, 2023) – Ofira Bondorowsky, an accomplished leader and philanthropic visionary, has been named as the new chief executive officer and executive director of The Jack and Lee Rosen Jewish Community Center (JCC), the organization announced. She starts immediately and replaces Dr. Rueben Romirowsky, who is retiring after years of success.

Born in Israel, Bondorowsky grew up in Southeast Orlando. She joins the Rosen JCC with an exemplary record in both the public education and nonprofit sectors, where she built an impressive reputation for forging capacity-building partnerships. In her previous role as the vice president of strategic partnerships for Charity Navigator, Bondorowsky collaborated with expert groups and nonprofit leaders across the US to develop a comprehensive rating system for evaluating nonprofit performance and success. Now used to assess nearly 200,000 nonprofits nationwide, her contributions to advancing Charity Navigator’s mission have helped donors give with confidence. She’s described by peers as a collaborative and innovative leader with a track record of cultivating meaningful relationships within the organization and the community at large to transform big ideas into reality.

“I’m honored to join the team of dedicated staff at the Rosen JCC and grateful to Harris Rosen, the Rosen Foundation, and the Rosen JCC’s board of directors for their support and trust,” said Bondorowsky.

“We are very excited to welcome Ofira to the Rosen JCC,” said Jason Jacobson, president of the board of directors. “Ofira’s years of experience and knowledge with nonprofit organizations will enable her to explore and identify new opportunities as we grow our community partnerships,” he added.
“I am excited to welcome Ofira in her new role as the Rosen JCC’s chief executive officer and executive director,” said philanthropist Harris Rosen, who dedicated this facility in honor of his parents. “I am confident that her passion for community service, leadership experience and vision for the future will be tremendous assets to the JCC and to Central Florida’s Jewish community. When you see Ofira’s distinguished record of success, you will know that the Rosen JCC and the Central Florida Jewish community are both in great hands for today and for many years to come. I couldn’t be more pleased with Jason and the board of directors for selecting Ofira. She is already a pillar in our community, and I have no doubt that her passion and her vision will serve Central Florida’s Jewish community very well.”

“Central Florida is an extraordinary community with a long history of demonstrating that if we dream it, we can build it. I look forward to collaborating with leaders throughout the region to develop innovative and impactful programs that meet the needs of our community and redefine what’s possible,” Bondorowsky added.
