Rosen Inn Closest to Universal Receives Prestigious AAA Three Diamond Award

Property Rewarded for Recent Multi-Million Dollar Refurbishment and Rebranding which Reflects Renewed Commitment to Quality and Value

ORLANDO (April 14, 2011) – Rosen Hotels & Resorts® is proud to announce that its fourth leisure hotel, Rosen Inn closest to Universal, formerly the Rodeway Inn International, has just been awarded the AAA Three Diamond rating. Florida’s largest independent hotel chain with seven properties totaling 6,300 guest rooms and suites in Orlando, the hotel group recently completed a $30 million remodel and rebranding of all four of its leisure hotels. The other three hotels, Quality Inn International, Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando and Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista received the AAA Three Diamond rating in late 2010. This is the first time that the four Rosen leisure hotels have received the AAA Three Diamond rating. Rosen Hotels & Resorts® also owns three award-winning Orlando convention properties: Rosen Plaza®, Rosen Centre® and Rosen Shingle Creek®.

The 315-room Rosen Inn closest to Universal offers minutes-away access to the popular theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure as well as a swimming pool and four onsite dining choices. The hotel also features the popular Shogun Japanese Steak House, an authentic Japanese steak house featuring the entertaining skills and culinary masterpieces of Teppanyaki chefs.

“We remodeled our leisure properties to better increase value and quality for our guests. The rebranding followed soon after to further leverage the Rosen reputation for quality in our leisure properties as we have always done for our convention properties,” said Harris Rosen, President and COO of Rosen Hotels & Resorts®. “Receiving the AAA Three Diamond rating for each of our leisure hotels, including the latest award for the Rosen Inn closest to Universal, proves that our efforts to increase guest satisfaction have indeed been successful.”

The extensive renovation at the Rosen Inn closest to Universal included all new American-made furniture in every guest room, as well as new carpet, window treatments, upgraded art work, luxurious pillow-top mattresses and stylish, yet comfortable bedding. Private bathrooms now feature a granite-finish vanity and modern decorative lighting. Additional renovations were made as needed, including items such as signage, designer landscaping, repaved parking lots, new pool furniture and decks, updated elevator interiors, and environmentally friendly lighting. Refurbishments have also made the hotel more eco-friendly. These practices include, but are not limited to, water conservation measures made by installing low flow plumbing fixtures, implementation of a linen reuse program, and energy efficiency achieved by installing compact florescent (CFL) bulbs in all guest room lamps and light fixtures, among other improvements.

“We’re thrilled to have earned the AAA Three Diamond rating just in time for spring and summer travel to Orlando,” said General Manager Tony Masmoudi. “As travelers search online for quality accommodations at a great value in a location convenient to the theme parks, attractions, shopping and dining, they’ll find Rosen Inn closest to Universal at top of that list.”

Rosen Inn closest to Universal and its two sister properties on International Drive offer guests complimentary, scheduled shuttle service (reservation required) to Universal Orlando®, SeaWorld Orlando®, Aquatica® and Wet ‘n Wild Orlando®. The I-Ride Trolley stops in front of each hotel, providing low-cost transportation to more than 75 stops in the International Drive attractions area.
