Orange County and the City of Orlando declared June 24, 2024, as “Harris Rosen Day” and “Rosen Hotels & Resorts 50th Anniversary Day”

ORLANDO, FL (June 24, 2024) – Rosen Hotels & Resorts, the renowned award-winning hotel group headquartered in Orlando, is celebrating its 50th anniversary since the company opened its doors on June 24, 1974. In honor of the 50th Anniversary, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings declared June 24, 2024, as “Harris Rosen Day.” The recognition was given during a weekend celebration where prominent community leaders were in attendance including U.S. Representative Maxwell Frost (FL-10) who presented a Congressional Record and Orlando Poet Laureate Shawn Welcome. The special date was also recognized by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 6 Commissioner Bakari F. Burns who proclaimed June 24, 2024, as “Rosen Hotels & Resorts 50th Anniversary Day.”

Taking a bold chance on himself, founder Harris Rosen purchased his first property, known now as Rosen Inn International, with the last of his savings. Today, the hotel chain boasts a diverse portfolio of seven hotels, catering to both leisure and convention travelers. The properties include three convention properties, Rosen Plaza, Rosen Centre and Rosen Shingle Creek in its family, and four leisure properties, Rosen Inn International, Rosen Inn closest to Universal, Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando and Rosen Inn Lake Buena Vista, totaling over 6,300 guestrooms and over 740,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

“I still can’t believe everything that has transpired over the past 50 years,” said Harris Rosen, President and Chief Operating Officer. “I would have never imagined in my wildest dreams we’d be where we are today.”
