ORLANDO (May 15, 2008) – Taking a bold step toward the continued growth and development of its Orlando convention hotel brand, Rosen Hotels & Resorts has created a new executive leadership position — Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Rosen Hotels & Resorts Convention Hotels — to be filled by Rosen Shingle Creek’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Leslie Menichini.
Menichini joined the Rosen Hotels & Resorts team in May 2001 to build and lead the pre-opening team for Rosen Shingle Creek, where she was responsible for pre-marketing and sales for the 1,500 room hotel. In addition to opening the hotel in Sept. 2006, Menichini was charged with creating synergistic sales opportunities partnering with directors of sales and marketing including Todd Frappier, Rosen Centre and Victoria Hall, Rosen Plaza.
“Over the past seven years, Leslie has demonstrated outstanding leadership, professionalism and creativity in executing seamless, unified sales and marketing programs for Rosen Shingle Creek, in conjunction with her peers at Rosen Plaza and Rosen Centre,” said Harris Rosen, President and COO of Rosen Hotels & Resorts. “With tremendous expansion of the Rosen convention brand in the works, as well as growing initiatives such as our Rosen Green Meetings program, we need a strong leader to move us forward in a synergistic manner, and I have no doubt that Leslie is the best person to lead that charge.”
In her new role, Leslie will over see the centralization and synergy efforts of sales and marketing, staff development and revenue management of the Rosen Centre, Rosen Plaza and Rosen Shingle Creek. In addition, she will maintain her current role at Rosen Shingle Creek as Director of Sales & Marketing and utilize our existing core competencies to grow our sales and marketing, worldwide.
Each of the Rosen convention properties have been designated One Palm Green Lodges by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, meeting and often surpassing the state’s requirements to be deemed eco-friendly hotels. In her new role, Menichini will oversee the Rosen Green Meetings program for the three convention hotels and continue to seek new ways to improve and expand this program, as well as lead the charge to develop new programs.
Before joining Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Menichini spent three years with Park Place Entertainment in Las Vegas, serving as Director of Sales and Marketing for Bally’s/Paris Las Vegas and also worked as the company’s corporate liaison to synergize marketing efforts among five Las Vegas hotels. Prior to her work in Las Vegas, Menichini was the Assistant Director of Sales at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin in Orlando and the Director of Sales at the Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
“It is a tremendous honor and thrill to fill this newly created position,” said Menichini. “Rosen Hotels & Resorts has long been the leader in the Orlando meetings industry. I’m eager to help drive the brand forward by creating value-added programs and maximizing the amenities shared by all three hotels to the benefit of our clients. And I’m just as excited to create programs to benefit our incredible team of associates who work so tirelessly to please our clients and guests.”
Together, the three Rosen convention hotels offer the most rooms, most meeting space and closest proximity to the Orange County Convention Center of any Orlando convention hotels. Combined, they offer more than 3,600 rooms and more than 611,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and one of the nation’s largest column-free ballrooms. An award-winning championship 18-hole golf course and golf academy, world-class spa, nearly two dozen dining, entertainment and lounging options, state-of-the-art fitness centers, a variety of tennis and sport courts, provide meetings attendees and leisure guests unparalleled convenience and amenities.
Menichini will continue to be based out of the Rosen Shingle Creek sales office in Orlando. The three properties she will be representing include:
